This GTO has been very well restored and upgraded. The next step for the customer was custom audio. We are starting with a really nice set of Audison Voce 6.5 inch components in custom kicks driven by a Hertz HDP4 which will provide 120 watts of clean power. This is going to sound good.
We started by running a 4 awg EFX power kit and prepped the dash for a new head unit.
The HDP4, which is a class D amp, is going under the seat to minimize the visual impact.
We also got going on the custom kick panel speaker pods.
Here we are setting the speaker angles after we reinforced the plastic panels with some fiberglass.
Then we stretched some fleece and got the first layer of glass down.
The head unit is in. We replaced the oem trim with a custom fabricated trim ring painted to match the dash.
The custom kick panels are going in and here is the progress.
Here Brandon is sanding the kicks and they are looking good. If Brandon was less focused on flexing for the picture and more focused on the task at hand we would get this done quicker.
The final product looks good. We were able to dig up some vinyl with the original GTO color which we are stoked about. Here they are going in with the awesome Voce 6.5 inch components.
